Marriage is the legally or formally recognized union of two people as partners in a personal relationship between a man and a woman. In marriage, the two partners make a commitment to each other to share their lives together. This commitment is recognized by society and is also protected by law. Marriage is a universal institution that has existed since ancient times.
According to the Bible, God hates divorce. So, this means God frowns on divorce unless it is due to serious issues including adultery. To this end, it should be taken seriously and entered into with thoughtfulness and consideration. It should also be maintained and nurtured throughout the years.
It is therefore, hereby advised to those who have not entered into marriage yet, to be careful with whom they enter into a marriage relationship. Choose your life partner carefully. You do not want to regret it for the rest of your life. Do your research on the person and ensure you know them well. Make sure that you are compatible and that your values and goals for life are the same. Take your time and make sure that you make the right decision. Seek advice from those who know them well, such as family or friends. Ask yourself important questions and be honest with your answers. Most importantly, listen to your gut feeling. Additionally, prayer to God for divine guidance is strongly advised. Do not be wise in your own eyes. Be open to the possibility of change and growth, and remember that relationships take work. Be patient and remember that no one is perfect. Lastly, trust in God and remember that He has a plan for you.
As the famous American author John C. Maxwell once wrote: “Advice is what we ask for when we already knew the answer but wish we didn’t.” So the next time you’re feeling overwhelmed, just take a deep breath, close your eyes, and whisper: “Dear God, what do You want me to do now?” !
