I will praise thee; for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made: marvellous [are] thy works; and [that] my soul knoweth right well (Psalm 139:14).
Scripture helps us understand that we are different from other species. We are not like other creatures, that are only guided by instincts, which they don’t even understand or aware of.
You were given a God-like power to create your own life. Again, you are different from other people. That is why you need not copy people in everything they do. It is good to learn from others but do not try to duplicate them. Why should you not try to be like others?
1. You were created to be different, so express your uniqueness.
We are told that everyone’s fingerprints and voice are different from everybody else’s. I know other people can copy and imitate other people’s voices very well. Embrace your uniqueness and express or manifest God’s greatness. That is why He created and made you.
2. Copying others leads to frustration.
No matter how you can try to imitate others in your life, it will lead to frustration. Just develop yourself so you can express the best you are. All that you were created to be is right within you. Everyone has a special gift or talent within. Find and polish it to the blessing of humanity. The world is looking for the real you. It already has the others, so do not be a copy of them.
3. The world is missing your contribution
Even though you may be gifted with what others appear to be having, your expression of it is different. Your voice and your approach of doing things are different. Who said things are to be done in a certain way? That is limiting. You are unique. The world is tired of the same things done the same way repeatedly. You will note that things and the way of doing them keeps on changing. We were made to be innovative.
You were fearfully and wonderfully made. That is how God made you. Since you were created differently, therefore, express that uniqueness. Do not copy other people even though you can learn a lot from them. That will help you avoid unnecessary frustrations. The world is waiting to embrace your contribution.
