Salvation

Everything in the universe was created by God. That includes human beings. The man was created according to God’s image and likeness.

(Genesis 1:26) “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

Human beings were not a result of evolution. God created the universe. But it so happened that man fell into sin after the temptation of the devil.

(Genesis 3:1-7) – “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.”

Jesus came down born of a woman as promised. That was the plan that God had been working on since the fall of man.

(John 3:16) – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

This just requires faith in the finished work of Jesus. You do not need to try and be good. Trying to be good is not acceptable as a means to be saved. We become good because of His salvation. We have salvation through Jesus Christ. We have eternal life. No one can go to God without Jesus Christ.

(John 14:16) – “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

So that is only one way to God and that is Jesus Christ. You do not have to pay any money for that. Jesus paid for our sin. He dealt with the issue of sin once and for all. It does not matter who you are. He loves you. Accept Jesus if you are not yet saved. Say the following prayer:

“Father I come to you in the Name of Jesus Christ. Forgive me of my sin. Wash it away by the Blood of Jesus. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and I believe that you raised Him from the dead. I accept Him as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you for forgiving me. I am now your child and you are my Father. Thank you, Lord, for your salvation. In Jesus Name. Amen!”

Now you are a child of God. Look for a good Church in your area that believes in Jesus Christ and preaches the full Bible. God bless you!

The Holy Spirit

Jesus promised His disciples that He would send the Holy Spirit from the Father. He stressed that they needed Him.

(John 16:7) – “Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I go, I will send him unto you.”

Before Jesus left, He told the disciples to tarry or stay in Jerusalem and wait for the Holy Spirit to come. We learn from this that no one is expected to do things for God without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. They really needed Him

(Acts 1:4-5) – “And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.”

I am glad that they obeyed the last command of the Lord. They waited in Jerusalem. The Lord’s promises are true. Indeed the Promise of the Lord was fulfilled as the Bible records, “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

(Acts 2:1-4) – And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

How do we know that one has been baptized in the Holy Spirit? The Bible tells us that they were heard speaking in other tongues (languages) given by the Holy Spirit. So that is the initial evidence of the infilling with the Spirit among others. There are many benefits.

You only need to believe that this was also your promise. You can be baptized in the Holy Spirit.

(John 16:13-14) – “The Lord said, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”

When you speak in tongues, you build yourself up in your faith. The Apostle Paul said,

(1 Corinthians 14:4) – “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself…”

Jude also records,

(Jude 1:20) – “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost”

What is praying in the Holy Ghost or Spirit? Paul says,

(1 Corinthians 14:14-15) – “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.”

Praying in the spirit is praying in tongues and praying with the understanding is using your mind speaking in the language you learned. You need to edify or build yourself up. That is easier done by praying in the Holy Spirit. Tongues are the language of the your born again spirit given by the Holy Spirit who is inside you. Other subjects shall be covered in the articles.
