1.0 Introduction
God loves you. He is with you all the time. The Lord wants to do something beautiful out of your life. Just allow Him. You were not designed for failure in life but for success. Defeat or failure is to quit after unsuccessful attempts of doing something.
Today we shall look at the above subject taking our reading from two portions of scripture.
“This book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it by day and by night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall act wisely.” (Joshua 1:8).
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).
2.0 What to do to ensure success and prosperity
- Success is your covenant promise
God made a promise to the Israelites on the issue of success and prosperity. But since you are c child of God, through Jesus Christ you are the descendent of Abraham. Abraham’s blessings are yours. Let us read from Deuteronomy 28:1-8:
Deu 28:1 And it will be, if you shall listen carefully to the voice of Jehovah your God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command you today, Jehovah your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth.
Deu 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on you and overtake you, if you will listen to the voice of Jehovah your God.
Deu 28:3 You shall be blessed in the city, and be blessed in the field.
Deu 28:4 The fruit of your body shall be blessed, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your cows, and the flocks of your sheep.
Deu 28:5 Your basket and your store shall be blessed.
Deu 28:6 You shall be blessed when you come in, and blessed when you go out.
Deu 28:7 Jehovah shall cause your enemies that rise up against you to be stricken before your face. They shall come out against you one way, and flee before you seven ways.
Deu 28:8 Jehovah shall command the blessing on you in your storehouses, and all that you set your hand to. And He shall bless you in the land which Jehovah your God gives you.
The above portions of scripture apply to you. You are blessed everywhere you go. Whatever you do, that is, the work of your hands is blessed. God’s blessing is your portion. This is a covenant promise, that is, success and prosperity. Claim it. It is yours. God has given you His word for a failure- proof life.
- Refuse to fail
May I indicate to you child of God that there shall be challenges and problems in life. When they come, it does not mean you have sinned or weak. Such challenges just remind us that we are still on earth where the enemy the devil is present. Again, we are still living in the physical body that is still to be transformed or glorified.
Let us look at Daniel 3:16-20:
Dan 3:16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to return a word to you on this matter.
Dan 3:17 If it is so that our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, then He will deliver us out of your hand, O king.
Dan 3:18 But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods nor worship the golden image which you have set up.
Dan 3:19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with wrath, and the form of his face was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He spoke and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated.
Dan 3:20 And he commanded mighty men in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to throw them into the burning fiery furnace.
We learn from the above portion of scripture that challenges came even during Bible times. The three young men were set for failure or defeat as they were forced to bow down before a gold image. But they refused based on the word of God. They were not to worship any other thing except God the Creator of heavens and earth. So, they refused. We know the story of what happened afterwards. They were thrown into the fiery furnace bound. But God miraculously delivered them. God is always on the side of those who will not compromise his word.
May the Lord God Almighty help you to remain strong regardless of what is working against you. He is always on your side.
3.0 Conclusion
Be reminded child of God. The Lord loves you. He is always with you. Therefore, never allow defeat and failure in your life. Success and prosperity are your portion. Refuse to be defeated. Say “No” to failure. God is always with you and on your side.
