Money answers all things. It is an important tool in our lives. We need it. But the Bible gives clear warnings about it. Below are things to avoid:
1. Trust in riches leads to a fall
Proverbs 11: 28 says, “He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like the green leaf.”
2. Trusting in money or riches makes it hard to enter God’s kingdom
“Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God.” (Mark 10:23).
3. Serving God and Money is impossible
One will be superior to the other. Mark 6:24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.”
4. Money or wealth can choke the word of God in your life
That is if you make it part of the cares of this world. “And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.” (Matthew 13:22).
Money is very important. But it is important for one to be careful about it. Learn to master it so it cannot control you. Trusting in riches it leads to a fall. Trust in God not money, otherwise, it may be hard to enter into the kingdom of God. You cannot serve both God and money.
